Welcome to Micro Cow Farm

Our Story

About Our Little Acres

Our aim is to encourage people to view cattle in a more compassionate way. Cuddle a cow once and you’ll be hooked for life.
Our Little Acres began as a hobby, now a leading international micro cow farm producing over 15,000 healthy mini cows annually.
Our experience with these beautiful miniature cattle led us to consider making our love of these cattle something we could share with others. We wanted other small acreage owners to discover the joy of owning these gorgeous small white cattle too. So, we built the website and had been tickled pink with the response. Keeping up with all the inquiries is a lot of work, but in the end, it’s all fun.

Why would someone want to have Miniature Hereford’s versus a standard size cow ?

Find the perfect mate

There are several reasons why minis’ fit better with the average family.  One is they are so easy to handle and willing to be worked with which makes them easy to live with.  All of our minis’ are halter trained which makes a world of difference in daily handling and a joy to be with.  You do not have to worry about them running over you as you would with a large cow or a horse.  Secondly in choosing a mini versus a large cow, you can put two minis’ per acre  versus one large cow per acre which allows for smaller farms to have a small herd of minis’ on a small tract of land.  Thirdly, minis’ with their smaller size do not tear up pastures as the larger cows do which helps to keep your grass growing.  Miniature Herefords best diet is good grass. They thrive and prefer green grass over all other foods. Fourthly, minis’ due to their shorter frame and stout body produce more meat than large cows which means you are getting more meat per pound of food eaten by the Miniature Hereford.  I always say that our Miniature Herford’s act like our big dogs, our Bouvier des Flandres.
